“RIDDLES FOR LONGING / Flimsy Fictions unfolds in two acts across two different cities. Between Brussels and Berlin, the exhibition is an inquiry of modes of narration and the construction of (his)stories. As the past is often not merely the point to relate to but also the subject of continuous renegotiation, nostalgia becomes a matter of investigation. Political implications of nostalgic sentiment, reasoning, and aesthetics are juxtaposed against ways of appropriating the tightly constrained frames of contemporary reality through alternate and fictitious modes of storytelling.”
